CR Live


CR Live is an in-house teleconferencing platform made possible by CaucusRoom.  CaucusRoom group hosts now have the ability to host all of their interactive meetings, including team meetings, town halls, public events, and much more through CaucusRoom! CR Live supports most modern browsers, and mobile devices and can be run regardless of whether or not your device has a camera or microphone. All a user must do to join a meeting is to join the platform as a member.

Getting Started

In order to use CR Live, check to make sure that you meet the following requirements: 

  • You are a member of CaucusRoom. If you are not a member, click here to sign up!
  • You are using a modern web browser (Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Firefox, or Brave)
  • For online events hosted by a private group: You own or host a group on CaucusRoom or are a member of the group hosting the online event.

Scheduling a CR Live Meeting

Starting a CR Live meeting was designed to be quick and easy. Any host of a group can start a meeting by completing the following steps.

  1. Log in to CaucusRoom
  2. From the home page, navigate to your group through the search bar in the navigation header or the My Groups widget on the left-hand side of the home page.
  3. When you have reached your group, click on the Events tab for your group, located next to the Feed tab.
  4. Select the green “New Event” button
  5. A form will open up which allows you to create an event on CaucusRoom. Fill out the form with the appropriate information. The following fields are required: 
    1. Event Name
    2. Start Date & Time
    3. End Date & Time
    4. Timezone
    5. Visibility- Public (available to any CaucusRoom member) or Group Only (available only to members of your group)
  6. Before submitting, check the box highlighted in blue that says “This is an online event”
  7. Add the event to your group by clicking “Add Event” at the bottom of the form. 
  8. To finalize your online event you must re-edit the event and add a link to an online streaming service. After clicking “Add Event” you will be taken to the Event page where you may add your online streaming service link.To edit again, edit your event by clicking the ellipses on the right-hand side of the page and selecting “Edit”

After you select “Edit”, go to the highlighted blue section and select “Manage Online Settings"

  1. In the Livestream URL field, enter the following link:

  1. Select the green “Update” button at the bottom of the form

Starting a CR Live Meeting

  1. When you are ready to begin your meeting, navigate to the event and select the white “View Meeting” button: 

  1. You will be taken to the following screen. Press “Start Meeting” to begin your meeting

Please note that you can only start a meeting up to one (1) hour before the time that it was scheduled to start

After your meeting starts, you will see a list of familiar buttons to perform actions on the meeting: 

  • Enable/Disable Mic
  • Enable/Disable Camera
  • Start Screen Share
  • View/Hide Comments
  • Fullscreen
  • Record Meeting
  • View Meeting Attendees

You can also mute and kick participants as a moderator by hovering over the participant’s tile and selecting the microphone or phone buttons.

When you are ready to end the meeting, select “Leave Meeting”.

Your meeting will be available to rejoin for up to four (4) hours after the meeting has ended. 

If you selected the record feature, contact to obtain a copy of the recorded meeting. It will be made available in .mp4 format.
